Tides

Here is a great Video that discusses tides. What it does super well is explain complex ideas in a manner that someone with no background would understand. I do wish they used more formulas, but that’s not my call. The part where he discusses the difference between the force of the sun and moon was particularly helpful. I also learned new material as he spoke about areas that only get one high tide a day.
-       -   Most parts of the earth experience two high and two low tides each day.
-         - The difference in distance of the earth creates unequal forces.
-         - This is important, because it creates the two tidal bulges.
-        -  Full moons, and new moons create spring tides, the moon, earth, and sun will make a line when this happens. Neap tides happen when the moon is perpendicular to the sun.

  1. Your resource video was a very good choice as it explained key concepts and did a very good job of illustrating these ideas as well. And your tide chart is fantastic and well organized as is the entire post as a whole. Well done and good post.
